Why don’t you want JST anymore ? Do you think they are too fragile ?
I am interested in alternatives too but rather because one can’t buy JST cables with JST plugs on both ends. There’s a plug at one end only, therefore I always end with a screw terminal block or a soldering on the other end. I don’t know if crimping equipment could be bought for JST cables but I have been disappointed with crimping of basic cables (such as one used on Arduino). It’s hard to get good results.
our motivation for moving away from the JST connectors is because they are not designed for frequent plugging and unplugging. they are difficult to use and fail over time. but on the other hand they are a standard when using LiPo batteries with electronics so they remain a convenient option. we have finally ended up going with this JST to barrel-jack extender/converter since the barrel jack (though bulky) is really nice for frequent and easy connections:
